Kaross Workers

Visit this dynamic embroidery project in Letsitele, with showroom and teagarden. When you see a Kaross product, you are looking at the embodiment of passion for colour and the tactile experience of African culture. The 100% handcrafted products are of extraordinary beauty, combined with durable quality and exquisite attention to detail.

Sunland Baobab

The Sunland Baobab is one of the largest surviving baobab trees in the world. We also have the second largest baobab in our country, the largest remnant of indigenous forest in our country, mountain grasslands and spectacular views. The University of Pretoria is busy with carbon dating to validate the age of this mother of trees, which is said to be approximately ±6000 years old with a 46.8m Circumference. A pub was created in the cavity within the tree.

Modjadji Cycad Reserve

The Modjadji Cycad Reserve, near Modjadjiskloof, features the world’s largest concentration of a single-species cycad, also known as the Modjadji palm. The Modjadji Cycad Reserve (declared a national monument in 1936) is the largest concentration of a single cycad species in the world. With its legendary fifth Rain Queen - Mokope Modjadji - and the only person that even made Madiba - our own South African Hero, President Nelson Mandela to wait - it is still a must see and tours to the Royal Kraal can be arranged. Although the Rain Queen is not allowed to speak to people, Mr Mandela had the opportunity to enjoy a few meetings with her after spoiling her with the lovely gift of a luxury 4x4 sedan. Although she was willing to see him, Mr Mandela declared afterwards that she - just as Queen Elizabeth II did not answer any questions.

Tzaneen Country Club Golf (18-hole)

Tzaneen Country Club, The front nine has long escalating and curving fairways, giving the long drivers a chance to show their mettle. The back nine boasts tricky slopes and angles, giving the game a bit more edge. The course has a wide variety of trees indigenous to South Africa, all planted strategically, giving the course a picturesque beauty, with towering green mountains as a backdrop.

Debegeni Waterfalls

Debegeni Waterfalls, the Tsonga word for "melting pot" is situated at the bottom of the Kloof just outside Tzaneen with picnic spots and braai facilities. The Debegeni Waterfalls are among the most beautiful and scenic attractions in the Magoebaskloof and Tzaneen Area.

Ebenhaezer Dam

The Ebenhaezer Dam has a beautiful scenic spot for picnicking as well as other water sports, and even river raft trips can be organized for groups.

Tarentaalrand

On Tarentaalrand you have the opportunity to do bird watching after your heart's desire. The Tzaneen area is well known of interesting mix of lowland habitats here support a wide range of species including Gorgeous Bush-Shrike, White-browed Robin-chat and Purple-crested Turaco.

The Agatha Crocodile Ranch is situated on a picturesque avocado farm just outside scenic Tzaneen. Included in the tour is a comprehensive address covering the history, behaviour, conservation and breeding of the Nile crocodile followed by a feeding show and guided tour of the breeding dam and enclosures.
